Moving Mountains for Mallows Beauty: Custom Shopify Store Creation
Mallows Beauty, a vibrant, trendsetting beauty brand aimed at a Gen Z audience, approached us with a vision to create a custom Shopify store that would fully reflect their bold and youthful identity. Their primary goal was to develop a seamless ecommerce experience that not only mirrored their unique branding but also provided a smooth, engaging shopping journey for their customers.
We worked closely with Mallows Beauty to build a fully customised Shopify store from the ground up, designing a platform that balanced both aesthetics and functionality. Key elements of the project included custom basket functionality and widget development to elevate the user experience.

The Challenge: A Brand-Centric Design & Build
Understanding that Mallows Beauty’s target audience is primarily Gen Z, we needed to craft a visually engaging, interactive design that resonated with their fun and youthful brand ethos. Vibrant colours, playful elements, and bold typography would need to be integrated throughout the site to reflect the energetic and inclusive nature of the brand.
It was crucial to ensure that the site was optimised for both mobile and desktop to cater to the on-the-go shopping habits of Gen Z. Every aspect of the design needed to stay true to Mallows Beauty’s existing visual language, from colour schemes to imagery, and along with this, we needed to create a cohesive experience across the site, to replicate the ‘one-click’ shopping experience that their customer profile was used to on TikTok and similar social channels.


Our Approach: Coded from the Ground Up
To provide Mallows Beauty with full control over their online store, we developed a completely custom Shopify build, avoiding out-of-the-box templates to ensure flexibility and ease of management.
Custom Basket Experience: We created a unique basket experience designed to streamline the checkout process while maintaining user engagement. This included dynamic basket updates, special offers, and easy access to product information.
Engaging Custom Widgets: To elevate user interaction, we developed custom widgets such as promotional pop-ups, product recommendations, and social media integration. These features helped drive conversions and allowed Mallows Beauty to stay connected with its audience.
Mobile and Desktop Optimisation: The site was fully optimised for both mobile and desktop, catering to the fast-paced shopping habits of Gen Z customers. This ensured a smooth experience across devices.
Fast Load Times and Clear Navigation: We used optimised images, code, and resources to guarantee fast load times, even on mobile devices. The site’s simple, intuitive navigation made browsing and purchasing seamless for all users.

The Result: A Memorable and Unique Shopping Experience
The final product was a custom Shopify store that seamlessly aligned with Mallows Beauty’s brand and catered to the needs of their Gen Z audience.
